Step-by-Step Installation:
When you place the EW1200R into a power outlet close to your primary Wi-Fi router the device will blink and needs a few minutes to fully power on and become ready for meshing, indicated by a long, central green light.
Within a few minutes, the extender will show a solid green light, signifying a successful connection. It should also show bars of signal strength.
Should the Bars be low you will need to move the extender around to where it will receive the best signal (Green 3 Bars)
Once connected, unplug the EW1200R and move it to a desired location. It should be placed roughly halfway between your router and the area in your home with a weak Wi-Fi signal.
Plug the extender back in at its new location and verify the router link LED is a good color (green or amber) to confirm an optimal connection.
I installed the EW1200R in the window of the building to get better signal and it is a total of 35 meters from router on the second floor of main Building.
Before the installation was done there was only 1 Bar signal available. After Installing EW1200R the signal went from 1 bar to a Full signal.
The WIFI improved 100% after the installation meaning that the EW1200R is definitely working. Unfortunately, at this stage it was only tested at a max of 40 meters.
It is best to not install it behind a wall as it does affect the signal strength. Should you not be able to install it in a window for better signal you can still install it behind a wall as it will sill boost your WIFI signal and work.
In conclusion:
The EW1200R is a very good unit to use should you need to boost you WIFI signal. It is very user friendly and easy to install. The only thing that was picked up is that the IP address that is given in the manual 10.44.77.254 did not work and I had to use IP 192.168.110.1 to log in and connect the unit. Once I used this IP address it was very easy to connect and follow the prompts.
